How does love survive fear and shame?

How does love survive when we suffer in pain?

How does love survive when revenge fuels the flame?

Love survives because we give faith.

How does love survive the brutal force of violence?

How does love survive when we cry in our silence?

How does love survive when oppressors think they have a free licence?

It survives because it never gives up on hope.

How does love survive the loneliness of the soul?

How does love survive when darkness traps us in the hole?

How does love survive when our very happiness someone stole?

It survives because we found just one person to trust.

Make love survive; hold space and faith.

Make love survive; give freely of hope.

Make love survive; give and receive trust.

After a meditation about suffering and the pain we exert knowingly and unknowingly upon each other, I wrote this piece.

How does love survive the pain?

Only in pain can we truly find love, it seems it wants to feed off the suffering and push us to consciousness.
